A backpack sprayer is a convenient way for you to apply chemicals to your lawn and garden. You can hold up to six gallons on your backpack, making it easier than lugging around a 30-lb. tank. Backpack sprayers come in many different forms. Some will support any chemical you put in it, and some will require more work than others.
Mobility
One of the key advantages of a backpack sprayer is mobility. The sprayer can go anywhere that the wearer can, enabling watering and cleaning in remote areas, such as rooftops or isolated flower plantings. This prevents the need to use extremely long garden hoses, which may crimp or leak, or tote water by other means, such as a pail or watering can.
Capacity
A good reason to use a backpack sprayer is for its capacity. Most standard backpack sprayers come with either a four- or five-gallon tank, which is more than most watering cans can hold and still remain light enough to carry comfortably. A full tank is usually enough to water an entire section of lawn or garden, and because the sprayer's outlet is located near the base of the tank, none of the water is wasted or left unused.
Control
Backpack sprayers give the user more control than a traditional hose or watering can. Most backpack sprayers accept a variety of nozzles that can create high-intensity streams for power-washing a brick or stone surface or a gentle drizzle for watering fragile flowers. Users can also control the pressure by pumping more quickly or slowly, ensuring that plants get only as much water as they need.
