A spray paint is a real time saver. But there are many opinion that spray paint is not as durable as the one that has been painted or roll on. Believe it or not, with the right techniques, a spray painted surface could be as durable as the one worked with brush. Sprayer is useful difficult to paint surface such as textured surface or multiple planes. When using sprayers, you must protect the surrounding surfaces with plastic.
To have a uniform color with the least ammount of pressure, practice on a large disposable surface, and adjust it to the right setting. Spray it in overlapping strips with the sprayer about a foot away. Mvoe the sprayer smoothly for about 3 inches per second. Release the trigger in the end of a strip, and then engage it again in reverse direction. Do not switng your arms and consistent pace will produce an even coat.
Don’t take more than 15 minutes break as the paint in the sprayer will begin to harden. Even in a short break, you have to set the safety look. If you will have a longer break, clean the paint from the sprayer after turning off and unplug the unit. Paint sprayer is very powerful tool, so always use safety equipment like gloves and googles, as well as protective clothing.
